I’m finally back for good! I have been preparing to take the HTML/CSS/Photoshop test at work. I think it went well! Obviously not perfect because I only started learning HTML a couple months ago, but I’m really proud of how much I’ve learned so even if I don’t get this promotion at least I’ve learned a whole new skill!
If you want to learn some basic CSS (which will allow you to change things on your blog like background colors, fonts, sizes, etc) it’s very easy. Just go to http://www.w3schools.com/ and click “learn HTML.” Once you learn the basics you can move on to basic CSS. It’s a really great site.
It was difficult studying for at least three hours a day and learning something completely new on my own when I’ve been out of school for the past two years. It made me realize how much I haven’t been exercising my mind!
All of this brings me to this point – you’ll be seeing some changes around here.
First of all, I’m probably going to delete my food blog, Divorce Hungry. Food is such a big part of my life that I might as well incorporate it into this blog. Besides, pretty much everyone who reads that also reads this blog. It will be easier for everyone.
Eventually I’ll come up with a real name for this blog and purchase a URL with a good name. Obviously when I came up with my URL – playerpianosara – I wasn’t thinking anyone would ever read my blog. I quickly typed in a book I’d just finished reading, and that wasn’t available so I tacked my name onto the end of it. Classy. If you ever have any suggestions, please let me know!
Also eventually I’m going to edit the CSS on this blog. There are a couple minor changes I’d like to make that will hopefully give it a more personal touch.
I want to start regular features on my blog as well, for example posting a recipe every Monday, posting quotes I like on another day, things like that!
Today I’ll start with Thomas Jefferson.
“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”
I love quotes. And I love T. J. I have a Thomas Jefferson necklace:
Next week I’m going to Venice and I’ll have my new Nikon D5000 so I’m sure to get some stunning pics! Well, I hope anyway.
