Phil has a good life. He works only one day a year* and during the rest of the year he lives in the town library with his “wife,” Phyllis.
I love Wikipedia. How else would I have found all this out about Phil? There just isn’t enough news about Phil.
You know what else I love? Groundhog Day the movie, with Bill Murray. In sick way I think it would be kind of fun to be able to kill yourself every day and then wake up the next day totally fine.
Really, think about this. You could take all kinds of risks. You could jump off cliffs, drive faster than the speed limit, etc.
*In the U.S. and supposedly Canada, Phil is the Groundhog who comes out of his home at Gobbler’s Knob (yes, that’s really it’s name) on February 2 each year, and whether he casts a shadow predicts either an early spring or late winter. This year he did not cast a shadow, so we will have an early spring! I say will, because this is clearly a science. Don’t question Phil. He’s had his job longer than you’ve had yours, seeing as how he’s been working for more than 120 years.
